After watching What Women Want with Mel Gibson, in which the male protagonist reacts to waxing as if it’s a form of torture, I got the idea that men avoid waxing like the plague.  I was wrong.  After doing some research, I’ve discovered some of the secrets between males and the people who wax them.

•  Men not only don’t avoid waxing, but many men get their entire body below the neck waxed.
• Men are tough enough to withstand the pain of getting waxed, contrary to what many like me have believed.
• Full bikini and bun waxing is a common request.
• The most popular waxing zones for men include the back, chest, and what’s called the Brazilian or a bikini wax.
• There isn’t a stereotypical kind of man who is interested in being waxed; they come from every walk of life and sexual orientation.
• At-home waxing for men isn’t recommended by experts, particularly for the bikini area.  In fact, an expert waxing technician is very highly paid to provide safe waxing services.  If you think about it, waxing male genitalia is certainly a delicate task.

• One of the top reasons that a man gets waxed is to surprise his wife or significant other.
• Most men like to get their bodies waxed because of the way it feels afterward.
• Men like the clean feeling of being waxed and the hygienic aspects of removing hair under the bikini area.
• Men often feel that a good bikini wax enhances their…er…size.
• A Brazilian helps cyclists with endurance.
• Men who are especially hairy report that simply taking a shower takes on a whole new level of enjoyment because the water hits the skin instead of a layer of hair.
• Excessively hairy men don’t have to live with their bushy appearance, since waxing gives them the option of looking nice and smooth.

Now that you know how popular waxing really is with men, perhaps a gift certificate for a wax job would be the perfect birthday or Valentine’s Day present for the man in your life.
